Elem STEM Instruction

The brainchild of Imperial Unified School District, our elementary education program involves meaningful interactions between younger and older students.  This program asks high-school students to facilitate Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) lessons to elementary school students. These civic-minded high school students help plan and conduct the inquiry-style instruction.  These lessons are Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) aligned and original to our district.  A dedicated group of IUSD teachers and valuable consultants create these lessons.

In 2015-2016 we served our district's 2nd and 3rd grade students conducting instruction at classrooms located at Ben Hulse Elementary School.  This year we plan to expand serving 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades in our district.  We will continue offering NGSS-based lessons during our STEM-based field trips to sites in and around our county.
